Sodium thioglycolate is a simple, sulphur containing Carboxylic Acid with varied applciations across many markets. It is used in the field of Microbiology as a biological nutrient used to maintain reducing conditions in the media.

In the Personal Care Indsutry, the products are all used in depilatory formulations and Hair Removing Creams. In the Chemical Laboratory Market it is used as an Analytical Reagent used to separate Metal Ions (e.g. Fe(III), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Mn(II) ) using Thin Layer Partition Chromatography. In the Pharmaceutical Industry it has use as an intermediate.
